Software Engineer

We are seeking a Software Engineer to take business change requests and technical requirements, then design and develop the solutions to enhance or correct an Internet technology-based accounts receivable software package with some supervision. Candidate should be proficient in Java J2EE and also be able to work on multiple assignments, with an understanding of SQL and relational databases. Candidate must have an understanding of life cycle development through production implementation and post implementation support.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or other Engineering discipline
  • Proficient in Java and SQL
  • At least 4 years of experience as a software engineer
  • Familiarity with using a change control software application, preferably StarTeam
  • Ability to work in all phases of the software development life-cycle
  • Demonstrated excellent problem analysis and problem solving skills
  • Effectively communicate in writing and verbally to small groups

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Financial background
  • Laboratory or other medical industry background
  • Experience with automated testing tools, such as JUnit
  • Experience with JSP, HTML, JavaScript, XML, and/or SWING
  • Experience with X.12 EDI transactions
