| Medicare Screening Tests |

Effective July 1, 2001, Medicare beneficiaries are eligible for
the following screening tests:
- Pap Test and Pelvic Exam every two years for women not at high
risk for uterine and cervical cancers. Medicare covers these tests
annually for women at high risk
- Colonscopy every 10 years for people not at high risk for colorectal
cancer
- Medicare covers this procedure every two years for individuals
at high risk
- Fecal Occult blood every year
- Flexible sigmoidoscopy every four years
- Barium enema as an alternative to colonscopy or sigmoidoscopy
- Baseline Mammogram for women ages 35-39 and an annual mammogram
for women age 40 and older
- Prostate cancer screening annually for men age 50 and older.
- Bone mass measurements for individuals at risk for osteoporosis.
