Lâle White

Executive Chairman and CEO

Lâle White is a nationally recognized expert in the field of medical financial management and regulatory compliance, with over 25 years of experience in information systems development and medical billing. She lectures extensively on these topics and has consulted for major laboratories and laboratory associations throughout the U.S. She worked with HCFA and the US Office of the Inspector General to develop the first OIG Model Compliance Program. Lâle was previously Vice President - Finance of Laboratory Corporation of America (NYSE: LH), one of the largest clinical reference laboratories in the US, and its predecessor National Health Laboratories (NYSE: NHLI), where she led the software development of several accounts receivable, inventory, cost accounting and financial management systems for the laboratory industry. Lâle has a BA in finance and an MBA from Florida International University. She is a member of the Board of Directors for CombiMatrix Corporation, a molecular diagnostics company specializing in DNA-based testing services for pre- and postnatal developmental disorders.

James Malone

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
James Malone

James Malone has more than 35 years of financial leadership experience, having held the CFO position at several global healthcare, life science and technology companies. Previous to XIFIN, James was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of American Well. Before American Well, he was CFO at Misys plc., (FTSE: MSY.L), a global software and solutions company. Prior to that James was CFO at The TriZetto Group, the leader in information technology for the health insurance payer community, while it was publicly traded on the NASDAQ. Prior to TriZetto, he was CFO and CAO at IMS Health, a leading healthcare and pharmaceutical information provider, while it was publicly traded on the NYSE. James studied taxation at Pace University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from St. Francis College.  While an audit manager at Price Waterhouse, James earned his Certified Public Accountant license.

Lee Ann Nichols

Lee Ann Nichols

Lee Ann Nichols has more than 25 years experience in the laboratory industry with expertise in revenue cycle management and operations. She has held several senior level positions throughout her career including previous roles at as director of revenue cycle strategy and director of molecular diagnostic services. Before XIFIN, Lee Ann was president of West Pacific Medical Laboratory (WPML). Under her leadership WPML converted its accounts receivable system to XIFIN RPM and increased cash collections by 27%; oversaw the opening of 40 patient service centers and achieved significant year over year growth. Previously, Lee Ann worked at Westcliff Medical Laboratories (now owned by LabCorp) and also held several positions at Watson Medical Laboratories including chief operations officer. Lee Ann is a former member and secretary of the California Clinical Laboratory Association.

R William (Bill) Taylor

Chief Marketing Officer

Bill Taylor brings over 25 years of high technology experience focusing on software companies ranging from start up to multi billion dollar enterprises. Most recently Bill served as VP, Marketing and Corporate Development for Accelrys Inc. were he drove the re-invention of the company's mission and grew revenues from new markets at 50%/yr.resulting in a bookings increase of over 300% in three years. Prior to Accelrys Bill served as an IBM Strategy Executive were he drove the strategy for the rapid growth of the Rational brand within IBM Software Group.

Jeffrey Yates


Jeffrey Yates has experience as a manager and developer of mainframe and n-tier client/server information systems, both from the reference lab industry as well as at technology companies such as General Dynamics and Computer Sciences Corporation. He has extensive involvement with Java development and Oracle databases. Jeff has a B.S. in computer science from San Diego State University.

Mike Coats

Executive VP

Michael Coats has held several senior management positions where he created and managed financial information systems for some of the largest clinical reference laboratories in the U.S. While at Laboratory Corporation of America, Mike had overall technical responsibility for accounts receivable and billing systems, processing approximately 250,000 patient requests per day. He also served as VP - Financial Systems for Unilab, a large California clinical laboratory. Previously, his background was in computer system design and software development. Mike has a BSBA In Operations Management from University of Missouri.

Rick Murphy

Senior Vice President of Sales

Rick Murphy's proven leadership, market expertise, and results orientation come from over 22 years of sales and software industry experience in the life sciences, chemical and manufacturing markets. Rick came to XIFIN from GenoLogics, a life sciences software company. At GenoLogics, he streamlined sales strategy, global account management, and solutions selling processes as Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Previously, he helmed sales as Senior Vice President for World Wide Sales and Services at Accelrys Inc., an informatics and molecular modeling and simulation company. Rick has a B.S. in mechanical engineering technology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Nick Simanteris

Nick Simanteris

Nick Simanteris has over 20 years of experience in customer service for information-systems software and consulting companies. Previously, he was a managing director at KPMG Consulting, delivering software solutions to technology companies. Nick also served as a senior practice director for Oracle Corporation, where he was responsible for implementation of the Oracle e-Business Suite. Nick has an M.S. in Operations Research and a B.S. in business from Pennsylvania State University.

Rina Wolf

Vice President, Commercialization Strategies, Consulting & Industry Affairs

Rina Wolf is a nationally recognized expert in the field of laboratory commercialization and reimbursement, with over 20 years of experience in the diagnostic laboratory industry, specializing in Molecular Diagnostic Laboratories. She lectures extensively on these topics and has consulted for over 50 laboratories in the areas of commercialization, optimizing reimbursement and coverage, and compliance.

Rina is an active participant and advocate in industry affairs. She is a member of relevant AMA workgroups, is a former President and board member of the California Clinical Laboratory Association and is an active participant with the ACLA (American Clinical Laboratory Association), AMA and the Personalized Medicine Coalition. Rina also advises and presents to investor audiences, recent speaking engagements include William Blair, UBS, Piper Jaffray, Cowen Group, Macquarie and Bloomberg's G2 Intelligence Lab Investment Forum. She has also been a guest lecturer at ASU International School of Diagnostics.

Prior to joining XIFIN, Rina was responsible for creating and implementing successful reimbursement strategies with executive positions in the area of commercialization and reimbursement at RedPath Integrated Pathology, Inc., Genomic Health, Inc., and Esoterix (now LabCorp). Rina has a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and a Masters of HealthCare Administration.

Kyle Fetter

Vice President & General Manager of Diagnostic Services Operations
Kyle Fetter

Kyle Fetter has implemented and overseen the commercialization, billing, and reimbursement processes for over 30 unique molecular diagnostic companies releasing new high complexity laboratory testing services onto the health care market. He currently provides strategic direction as well as oversees the implementation process for molecular diagnostic companies at various stages of commercialization and third party payer contracting.  He also oversees the development and commercialization of new web-based software products at XIFIN catered to high complexity testing laboratories.

In addition to actively working with XIFIN’s large molecular diagnostic billing department, he consults molecular diagnostic companies on projecting cash flow for non-covered services, implementing successful appeals strategies, and how to effectively manage the relationship between sales and reimbursement for new medical technology.  Kyle regularly provides insights into the changing landscape of molecular diagnostic reimbursement via Webinars, Conferences, and XIFIN’s Blog.  He came to the healthcare industry with a background in technology funding and commercialization.  Kyle has a B.A. from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A from the University of Utah.

David Byrd

Vice President, Business Development

David Byrd brings nearly two decades of healthcare-related and business development experience in the radiology provider market to XIFIN, most recently serving as senior vice president of business development for MedData, the nation’s largest emergency medicine billing service company.  During David’s tenure, he oversaw the most successful sales year in the company’s 30 year history, and successfully repositioned MedData’s brand identity as well as assisted in strategic acquisitions. Prior to MedData, David was vice president, business development at A-Life Medical, Inc., a provider of computer-assisted coding products and services to the radiology market. While at A-Life, David oversaw sales, marketing and business development as well as managed the company’s corporate communications efforts. In the fall of 2010, A-Life was sold to OPTUM Insight, a leading provider of healthcare information, technology and consulting services.  David was instrumental in both preparing and transitioning A-Life for the sale.  David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana.  

Jeff Carmichael

Vice President, Engineering

Jeff Carmichael’s engineering leadership spans over 20 years and encompasses networking, security and OLTP systems.  Prior to joining XIFIN, Jeff led worldwide software development for the network and security division of LSI Corp.  He has held senior level leadership positions at several successful startups, and divisional leadership positions at Intel, and at Perot Systems where he architected transaction processing systems for hotel and car rental reservations.  Jeff holds a B.A. in Mathematics from San Jose State University.

Kevin Hagen

Kevin Hagen, Vice President of Information Technology

Kevin comes to XIFIN with 30 years of technology leadership experience from companies such as Qualcomm Incorporated, Omnitracs Inc. and Nortel Networks.  He has a diverse technology background leading a wide range of technical disciplines and practices.  As a technology exec at Qualcomm, he oversaw multiple divisional technology departments over his 20 years with the company.  As the CIO/VP of Omnitracs Inc, Kevin delivered the industry’s top vehicle telematics platform and world class corporate IT services.  While at Nortel Networks, Kevin led technology initiatives that were foundational to the company’s manufacturing operations. He brings heavy operational strength, process maturity/best practices and a highly valuable strategic technology acumen to XIFIN.

Robert Coull

Vice President, Finance

Robert Coull has more than 20 years of experience in Finance and Accounting, having held executive and leadership positions in public and private-equity backed companies focusing in healthcare and executive development.  Prior to his role as VP Finance for XIFIN, Rob was the Chief Accounting Officer for Vistage International.  Before Vistage International, Rob managed internal audit and financial due diligence for Fresenuis Medical Care.  Rob began his career with KPMG where he was an Audit Manager in the healthcare and life sciences practice.  Rob is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Salem State University.

Mitchell Fry

Mitchell Fry, Vice President, Sales and Strategic Alliances

Mitchell Fry has over 20 years of senior leadership experience within healthcare and clinical laboratory IT industries.  Prior to joining XIFIN, Mitchell held various roles including Vice President of the Hospital and Employer segments at WebMD Health Services, Vice President of Product Management and Business Development at Sunquest Information Systems and Senior Vice President of Sales at TELCOR. Mitchell attended the University of Arizona in Tucson.


Steve Nielson

Vice President, Sales

Steve Nielson has over 20 years of experience in the clinical laboratory sales and customer service environment, including senior level management positions with Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX), Dynacare Northwest, Laboratory Corporation of America (NYSE: LH) and its predecessor National Health Laboratories. Prior to joining XIFIN, Steve was General Manager for Quest Diagnostics San Diego, where he led customer integration efforts of the acquisition of the Unilab client base to the Quest Diagnostics testing and billing platforms. Steve attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
