Blood Smear code 85060 paid in incorrect Place of Service

The issue pertains to any provider billing 85060 procedure code in a place of service other than hospital inpatient. An internal system error was found in processing procedures code 85060 for blood smear, peripheral, interpretation by physician with written report. Part B providers submitting this procedure code in place of service other than hospital inpatient were paid in error. Adjustments will be conducted and recoupment of money will be requested from providers.
