CMS Hosts Fraud and Abuse Prevention Events in California Starting September 1
July 29, 2011Fraud committed through medical identity theft now plagues many physician practices in California. CMS in collaboration with the California Medical Association, California Department of Health Care Services, the Office of the Inspector General, the California State Attorney General, and the Senior Medicare Patrol will host a series of events on medical identify theft and other fraud related topics. Each event is to raise awareness and to educate physicians on how to safeguard and protect their professional and medical identity and their most valuable assets – their medical practice and their patients – from fraud. Medicare Part A and Part B MAC for Jurisdiction 11; comprised of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Medicare Part A and Part B MAC for Jurisdiction 1; comprised of California, Hawaii and Nevada. They are also the Ohio Part B Carrier.
