CPT Code 2013 Errata changes
January 28, 2013The following are the recently published AMA CPT code Errata changes for 2013 for Tier 2 Molecular Pathology Procedures:
â–²81402 Molecular pathology procedure, Level 3 (eg, >10 SNPs, 2-10 methylated variants, or 2-10 somatic variants [typically using non-sequencing target variant analysis], immunoglobulin and T-cell receptor gene rearrangements, duplication/deletion variants 1 exon)….
IGH@/BCL2 (t(14;18)) (eg, follicular lymphoma) translocation analysis; major breakpoint region (MBR) and minor cluster region (mcr) breakpoints, qualitative or quantitative
TCD@ TRD@ (T cell antigen receptor, delta) (eg, leukemia and lymphoma), gene rearrangement analysis, evaluation to detect abnormal clonal population
Add new analyte “IGH@/BCL2…” following code 81402 and revise the analyte “[TCD@]” and replace it with “[TRD@]”.
â–²81407 Molecular pathology procedure, Level 8 (eg, analysis of 26-50 exons by DNA sequence analysis, mutation scanning or duplication/deletion variants of >50 exons, sequence analysis of multiple genes on one platform)
â–ºUSH1C (Usher syndrome 1C [autosomal recessive, severel]) (eg, User syndrome, type 1), full gene sequenceâ—„
Add green text and bowties to the new analyte “USH1C…” following code 81407.
