CPT CodeBridge
December 30, 2013CPT CodeBridge™, the result of a collaboration between the American Medical Association (AMA) and McKesson, is a new system to map Z-Code™ Identifiers to Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) codes. The goal of this initiative is to help bring consistency to molecular diagnostic (MDx) testing and coding. The first release of CPT CodeBridge will be in March 2014. In order to have your organization’s test information be considered for the map, you must first register with the McKesson Diagnostics Exchange™ (DEX) and apply for a Z-Code Identifier. During the registration process, you will be asked to opt-in to share test information with the AMA for the mapping process. There is no fee associated with participation. Participation does not guarantee that your test will be mapped to a CPT code.
