Family PACT Adds CPT Code 87806 HIV Screening Code as a Benefit

Effective for dates of service on or after November 1, 2016, CPT code 87806 (infectious agent antigen detection by immunoassay with direct optical observation; HIV-1 antigen[s], with HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies) is a Family PACT Program benefit. CPT code 87806 is reimbursable for females and males with any of the ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes that identify the contraceptive method for which a client is seen, as listed in the Family PACT Policies, Procedures and Billing Instructions manual: Z30.011, Z30.013, Z30.018, Z30.019, Z30.02, Z30.40, Z30.41, Z30.42, Z30.430, Z30.431, Z30.432, Z30.433, Z30.49, Z30.8, Z30.9, Z98.51 and Z98.52. Family PACT follows Medi-Cal policy on frequency limits for laboratory services. These limits are set per recipient, per service, per month via the Laboratory Services Reservation System (LSRS).
