Jurisdiction H Award of Part A/B MAC Contract

In November 2011, CMS announced the selection of Highmark Medicare Services Inc. as the new Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) for handling both Medicare Part A and Part B fee-for-service claims in Jurisdiction H, which includes the states of Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and New Mexico. A protest was filed but denied. CMS will issue the new transition schedule shortly. Effective Sunday, January 1, 2012, Diversified Service Options, Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Inc, acquired Highmark Medicare Services from its parent company, Highmark Inc. As a result, Highmark Medicare Services changed its name to Novitas Solutions, Inc. Novitas Solutions,Inc: MAC for Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania.
