ACLA submits comments to CMS on PAMA’s test reimbursement process

July 31, 2014

The Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 (PAMA) completely overhauled the manner with which CMS will determine reimbursement amounts for clinical laboratory testing. The American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA) recently submitted comments to CMS on how this process should proceed.

The ACLA is a trade association representing national, regional, and esoteric laboratories that perform millions of tests each year that are paid for under the

Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule (CLFS). The way in which CMS proceeds in implementing this reimbursement reform provision and the choices it makes will have a major impact on ACLA members.
