Aetna – Effective Date Change for Additional National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) Edits

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) creates and sponsors the NCCI, which is a collection of bundling edits. NCCI edits are for services performed only by the same provider on the same date of service. In May, we told you we would be updating and adding additional edits based on the NCCI policy. These updates have been delayed and will now become effective January 1, 2022.
