California Medi-Cal State Competitive Bidding Initiatives

California Medi-Cal issued a Request for Applications on April 5, 2004 from labs that want to continue to provide services to Medi-Cal recipients. In this initial phase the RFA only targets labs having active Medi-Cal provider numbers and performing moderate and high complexity testing. Letters of intent to apply are due April 23, 2004. The state will hold pre-application conferences on April 15,2004 in Los Angeles and on April 19, 2004 in Sacramento. The term of the contract will be 24 months and the anticipated effective date is October 1, 2004.
