Cigna Precertification changes
January 28, 2013On January 1, 2013, the AMA and CMS released new CPT® and HCPCS codes. Codes released as part of their updates will be reflected on the precertification list this month. Some of the Molecular Pathology Tier 1/Tier 2 codes are on the list. On February 18, 2013, Cigna will update their list of existing CPT and HCPCS codes to include 47 additional codes that will require precertification. At that time, they will also remove 56 codes from the precertification list.
