CMS lowers the cost of prescription drugs for Medicare beneficiaries

Part of CMS policy changes for 2019 include steps toward reducing cost of prescription drugs for Medicare beneficiaries. This begins with reducing the maximum amount low-income beneficiaries pay for ‘biosimilars,’ and increasing competition by allowing generic drugs to be substituted on to plans.
