Covered pathology and laboratory codes updated

The following CPT codes are covered by the Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) for dates of service on or after July 1, 2013.

• CPT code 81020 – Urinalysis; 2 or 3 glass test
• CPT code 84449 – Transcortin (cortisol binding globulin)

These codes were erroneously end-dated in the claims processing system, resulting in inappropriate claim denials. Beginning July 1, 2014, providers may resubmit affected claims for reimbursement consideration. Claims beyond the one-year filing limit must include a copy of this banner page as an attachment to the claim. This directive applies to fee-for-service claims only.
