Diagnosis Code Requirement Policy Update for HIV Testing

Effective for dates of service on or after October 1, 2015, CPT codes 87389 (HIV-1 antigen[s], with HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies, single result) and 87390 (HIV-1) may be billed with any ICD-10-CM diagnosis code.
