Erroneous Denial of Medi-Cal Claims with RAD Code 0033 (Radiology)

A claims processing issue was identified that caused Medi-Cal claims to erroneously deny, with Remittance Advice Details (RAD) code 0033: The recipient is not eligible for the special program billed and/or restricted services billed. The issue affected claims that were submitted on or after October 20, 2014. Affected claims will be reprocessed. No action is required of providers. However, providers have the option to resubmit erroneously denied claims for the following CPT codes: 76098, 76645, 76942, 77055, 77056 and 77057.
