Hepatitis C Screening Codes Policy Update
November 27, 2012Effective for dates of service on or after December 1, 2012, CPT codes 86803 (hepatitis C antibody) and 86804 (hepatitis C antibody; confirmatory test [eg, immunoblot]) may be reimbursed with non-specific ICD-9-CM diagnosis codes V70.0 (routine general medical examination at a health care facility), V70.5 (health examinations of defined subpopulations) or V70.9 (unspecified general medical examination).
