Incorrect Denials for Professional Component of Pathology Services Provided to Hospital Patients

After working with CMS, Novitas has implemented system corrections to resolve the processing of claims to correct denials for certain professional component of pathology services that are provided to hospital patients.  The full list of impacted codes includes: P3001, 80500, 80502, 85060, 85097, 85396, 86077, 86078, 86079, 88141, 88187, 88188, 88189, 88291, 88321, 88325, 88329, 88363 and 89049. All newly received claims should now process correctly. Novitas will identify and reprocess any claims that were denied incorrectly.
