Medi-Cal – Implementation Delay for 2023 HCPCS Quarter 4 Update

The 2023 Quarter 4 updates to the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes did not occur as scheduled. Although implementation of these code additions, changes and deletions have been temporarily delayed, the effective date continues to be October 1, 2023.

Until further notice, providers are instructed to hold claim submissions to avoid erroneous denials. Please avoid billing the following terminated codes. As of October 1, 2023, they will no longer be valid:

• 0066U
• 0357U
• 0386U
• 0397U
• C9151
• J0800
