OIG Changes Publication Date for 2014 Work Plan
August 29, 2013Laboratory compliance officers who wait for the annual publication of the Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of the Inspector General’s (OIG) work plan in October each year will have to wait until January for the 2014 work plan. The change was announced in an update published by the OIG on Aug. 21. This may present problems for compliance officers who depend on the work plan to ensure any items affecting their laboratory are included in planning and budgeting for compliance activities in the next year. “This change from the usual October release will better align with priorities OIG has set for the coming year, a time of continuing fiscal challenges,” the OIG said in announcing the change.
