CA 2015 RBMA National Meeting Highlights

This year’s California RBMA Annual Meeting, held April 16-17, was one of the best attended California RBMA meetings in recent years, and with a jam-packed agenda, the meeting was a resounding success.  Attendees said that the chapter provided an insightful program with talks that were relevant to their practices, presented by articulate experts in their respective fields.  More than one attendee commented on the high quality talks at this state meeting that are usually only available at national conferences.

Some key highlights:

Integrated Radiology Partners’ Douglas Smith’s presentation  provided a glimpse into the future of the business of medicine and what it will take for radiology and imaging to thrive in the coming years.

Some of the other presentations discussed federal and state regulations that impact the Radiology practice  with Bob Achermann, JD, Executive Director, California Radiological Society  and Paul Pitts, JD, Partner, Reed Smith LLP as well as challenges associated with the transition to ICD-10 in a roundtable with with tools to aid providers in capturing correct information up front.  

Congratulations to XiFin’s very own Brigette LaBar, who is also President of the California Chapter of the RBMA. Brigette’s an undisputed radiology industry leader and her knowledge and enthusiasm helped create a winning event.

All in all a very informative meeting that provided leaders of radiology practices an opportunity to gain valuable insights into their practice as well as a congenial atmosphere to meet with their California colleagues.
