Chris Martin, Chief Product Officer: Building the Future of Intelligent Revenue Cycle Management
At a time when healthcare organizations are navigating growing operational complexity, expanding data demands, and the rapid acceleration of artificial intelligence, strong product leadership has never been more important. That’s what makes Chris Martin’s arrival at XiFin particularly exciting.
As Chief Product Officer, Chris brings a unique combination of passion for healthcare and medicine, technology expertise, and customer-centered product leadership. His career has been defined by helping organizations use technology to solve meaningful business challenges, and now he’s focused on helping XiFin accelerate innovation and deliver even greater value to customers.
A Passion for Healthcare and Technology
Chris’s interest in healthcare and medicine began long before he entered the professional workforce. While studying Systems and Information Engineering and Human Factors Engineering at the University of Virginia, he became fascinated by the intersection of people, technology, and medicine.
Even as a university student, he was exploring topics that remain highly relevant today. His senior thesis examined the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare and how technology and human connection would coexist in the future.
Initially considering medical school, Chris chose a different path after recognizing that technology innovation could create impact at scale across healthcare organizations and patient populations. That decision launched a career spanning management consulting, technology strategy, software delivery, and product leadership roles across industries.
Learning to Solve Customer Problems
Chris began his career with IBM before joining Deloitte, where he developed deep expertise in technology consulting, analytics, software implementation, and business transformation. Throughout his consulting career, Chris supported complex, highly regulated organizations in high-volume environments where accuracy was non-negotiable and financial outcomes depended on technology performance. Revenue cycle management (RCM) shares that same DNA.
The disciplines Chris built in those industries translate directly to the challenges XiFin’s customers face, including one of the core principles that continues to guide his leadership today: meaningful innovation begins with understanding customers and their businesses. Rather than focusing on technology first, Chris believes successful product organizations must begin by deeply understanding customer objectives and the problems they aim to solve.
That customer-first mindset became even more prominent during his product leadership tenure at Axos Bank, where he formed strong partnerships with Client Advisory Board members. Chris facilitated working sessions and focus groups with key strategic customers, digging into customers’ operational realities and partnering with them to chart the product path forward. The insights gathered from those engagements served as a compass for product roadmap direction and helped Chris meet diverse customer needs and drive measurable business outcomes.
Why XiFin?
For Chris, joining XiFin represented an opportunity to combine the professional themes that have motivated him throughout his career. First, it marked a return to healthcare technology, a field that has remained a consistent passion since his university days.
Second, he saw a significant opportunity to help shape and scale a product organization capable of driving transformational innovation. Third, he recognized the unique market position XiFin has built through its deep expertise, strong customer relationships, and robust technology foundation.
What struck me the most in my first month here is how much XiFin’s best-in-class workflow is already helping customers streamline their operations. I’m excited to come to work each day. We have great customers, a strong technical foundation, and a real opportunity to widen the gap over our competition.

The Next Frontier: AI-Powered Revenue Cycle Management
No topic in healthcare technology is generating more conversation than artificial intelligence, and Chris sees tremendous opportunity for AI to advance RCM. But he is quick to point out that in RCM, AI is only as good as the data, workflows, and payor connectivity underneath it and that is where XiFin’s advantage is hardest to replicate.
Anyone can put an AI label on a product. What you can’t shortcut is more than two decades of claims data, payor behavior, and workflow intelligence. That data foundation, coupled with the existing XiFin deterministic machine learning models, is what sets XiFin apart. It’s a head start that took XiFin twenty years to build.
Chris Martin
Chief Product Officer
He views today’s AI advancements as a natural extension of the machine learning, intelligent automation, and existing AI capabilities already integrated into XiFin’s solutions. For XiFin customers, this evolution delivers improved claim quality and accuracy, higher clean claim rates, faster reimbursement cycles, and increased revenue realization.
Just as importantly, AI has the potential to reduce administrative burden by automating repetitive tasks and allowing staff to focus on activities where human expertise creates the most value. In a domain where every transaction affects a customer’s revenue and compliance posture, Chris is equally clear that AI must operate with accuracy, auditability, and bring humans into the loop for decisions that matter.
Looking ahead, Chris believes organizations will increasingly interact with data, analytics, and software through AI-driven experiences and intelligent agents.
Today, teams go hunting through systems for answers. The future is the reverse. The technology solution will bring the right work, the right insight, and the right recommendation to the right person at the right moment. That’s the experience we’re building toward.

Building the Product Organization of the Future
As he begins his tenure as Chief Product Officer, Chris’s focus is clear.
His near-term priorities include expanding XiFin’s addressable market, increasing product modularity so customers can adopt solutions that best fit their needs, and making XiFin’s data, machine learning, and AI capabilities more accessible through new user experiences.
Internally, he’s equally focused on building a world-class product team. He looks for individuals who bring passion, intellectual curiosity, a commitment to continuous learning, and diverse perspectives on problem-solving. He believes successful teams require the right balance of innovation, execution, process discipline, and accountability.
His leadership philosophy centers on empowerment, creating clear guardrails while giving people the autonomy to make decisions, grow professionally, and develop into future leaders.
Defining Success
When asked what success would look like two years from now, Chris points to three outcomes.
First, customers collecting more of the revenue they’ve earned with less manual effort than they spend today.
Second, creating solutions that are so intuitive and configurable that customers can adapt them and accomplish their goals on their own timelines.
And third, expanding XiFin’s reach into new customer segments while strengthening our ecosystem’s value for existing customers even further.
Those ambitions align with XiFin’s mission of helping healthcare organizations streamline operations, improve financial performance, and prepare for the future.
Beyond the Office
Outside of work, Chris believes personal growth comes from maintaining a variety of interests.
Fitness is a daily priority and a key part of how he starts each morning. Golf provides a creative outlet and an ongoing opportunity to challenge himself. He’s also developed a growing interest in the science of wine, particularly how geography, weather, and soil shape the characteristics of different wines.
And while colleagues may know him as a product leader, strategist, and innovator, many may be surprised to learn that one of his favorite hobbies is fishing.
Originally from Virginia and now a longtime San Diego resident, Chris brings curiosity, energy, and a lifelong passion for learning to everything he does. As XiFin continues to advance its product vision and explore the next generation of AI-powered healthcare technology, Chris Martin is helping lead the way.
