13 New Digital Pathology Codes

On July 1^st, the AMA published 13 new CPT digital pathology codes for 2023. The new codes will help pathologists, pathology practices, and laboratories providing digitization procedures to accurately report these services.

• Name: Category III – Digital Pathology
• Add-on New Codes: 0751T – 0763T
• Description: Accepted addition of add-on codes to report additional clinical staff work and service requirements associated with digitizing glass microscope slides for primary diagnosis; and addition of a new heading in the Category III section and guidelines to define digital pathology digitization procedures.
• Effective Date: January 2023
