2026 Medicare Parts A & B Premiums and Deductibles Finalized
November 14, 2025CMS has released the 2026 Medicare Part A and Part B premiums, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts. Beneficiaries will see several increases to cost-sharing requirements beginning January 1, 2026.
Medicare Part B:
- The standard monthly premium will rise to $202.90 in 2026 (up $17.90 from 2025).
- The annual deductible increases to $283 (up $26).
CMS attributes the increases to projected growth in program spending and service utilization. Notably, CMS stated that without the payment reforms for skin substitutes finalized in the 2026 Physician Fee Schedule, the Part B premium would have increased by an additional $11/month.
Medicare Part A:
- The inpatient hospital deductible will increase to $1,736 (up from $1,676).
- Daily hospital coinsurance will rise to $434 for days 61–90 and $868 for lifetime reserve days.
- Skilled nursing facility coinsurance for days 21–100 increases to $217/day.
Premiums for beneficiaries who must voluntarily enroll in Part A will also rise in 2026.
Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amounts:
CMS updated the income-based premium adjustments for Part B and Part D, affecting roughly 8% of Medicare beneficiaries.
What this means for providers:
Rising deductibles and coinsurance may increase patient cost exposure and could influence utilization patterns, patient billing, and collection strategies—particularly for outpatient services and diagnostics billed under Part B.
