California Prenatal Screening Program Update

Effective retroactively to March 30, 2009, provider instructions for HCPCS code S3626 (maternal serum quadruple marker screen including alpha-fetoprotein [AFP] estriol, human chorionic gonadotropin [hCG] and inhibin A) are updated to include recipients during their first and/or second trimester of pregnancy. Code S3626 is reimbursable only once for women in the first and/or second trimester of pregnancy, including women with Presumptive Eligibility (PE) benefits.
