CAP: Pathologists Quality Registry
October 25, 2017The Pathologists Quality Registry is a qualified clinical data registry (QCDR) launched by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) in 2017. The registry can improve practice performance, through benchmarking against other pathology practices, and make it easier for pathologists to qualify for bonuses under Medicare’s Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Quality Payment Program (QPP). Developed by the CAP members and FIGmd, a leading provider of clinical data registries for physician specialties, the registry will be the first qualified clinical data registry developed specifically by pathologists for pathologists.
Enrollment for the Pathologists Quality Registry is open. We encourage all eligible pathologists to participate in Medicare’s Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), including quality measure reporting and improvement activities attestation. The Registry will have options for all pathologists to reduce the burden of reporting. Pathologists who use an LIS have the opportunity for integration, and paper-based practices have the opportunity for web data entry. CAP encourages pathologists to consider the benefits of reporting through the Pathologists Quality Registry over other options.
