CCI Editing Policy Coding Reminder
August 30, 2017As a reminder, the UnitedHealthcare CCI Editing Policy aligns with the CMS National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits. Effective in the third quarter of 2017, the application of the CCI Editing Policy will be improved to more effectively administer NCCI code edits for lab panel codes and lab codes not considered lab panel component codes. Some laboratory tests are not included as a component code in the laboratory panel. They would not be reimbursed separately according to NCCI code edits unless they are appended with an appropriate modifier.
