Highmark to Launch Enhanced Clinical Editing Processes Starting 10/1/16

Starting Oct. 1, 2016, Highmark will begin implementing a significant enhancement to their reimbursement policies that promotes correct coding. The outcome of this effort is having claim payment policies that are national in scope, simple to understand and come from highly respectable sources. The enhancements take into consideration Highmark’s historical claims experience and policy guidelines from CMS medical coding policies, the AMA CPT® coding guidelines, and local and regional Medicare policies.
