MDH Infectious Disease Reporting

MHCP will only cover handling and conveyance of specimen (CPT 99000) if both of the following conditions are met:  A specimen (biological) is required to be submitted to MDH for infectious disease reporting and the provider uses a third party courier and incurs a fee to deliver the biological to MDH. You may claim the courier expense using the 837P claim and must identify the rendering provider number as MDH (use UMPI# M306253800). In all other instances CPT 99000 is incidental to the primary service and is not covered.
