Medi-Cal Filing Period Extended for ACA Appeals Using Streamlined Procedure

A NewsFlash article entitled “Streamlined Procedure for ACA-Related Appeals” and published February 23, 2016, notified providers of a streamlined procedure, available for a limited period only, for submission of appeals regarding Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) payments for Medi-Cal services. Some providers have experienced challenges in completing all their ACA appeals before the conclusion of that limited period. To assist such providers, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is extending the filing period for submission of ACA appeals through December 31, 2016, from the original date of June 30, 2016.
