Medi-Cal: New Molecular Pathology Benefit for Genetic Testing for MODY

Effective for dates of service on or after June 1, 2016, genetic testing for maturity onset diabetes of the young (MODY) is reimbursable using the following CPT codes 81404, 81405 and 81406. Reimbursement for MODY requires an approved Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) and requires specific documentation from the provider on the TAR.
