Medicaid Connecticut – Covid testing Codes reimbursement methodology Update for 5/12/2023

Effective for dates of service May 12, 2023 and forward the Department of Social Services (DSS) will continue to provide reimbursement for COVID-19 laboratory testing codes as specified on the Independent Laboratory fee schedule. All COVID-19 laboratory testing codes will continue to be priced at 100% of the applicable Medicare rate through the end of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) period which ends on September 30, 2024. At the end of the ARPA period, Connecticut Medical Assistance Program (CMAP) will reprice the COVID-19 laboratory codes to 70% of the Medicare rate to remain consistent with CMAP’s current payment methodology for independent laboratories.
