National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) Provider Notification

The National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requires state Medicaid programs to incorporate “NCCI methodologies” in their claims processing systems. The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will soon be adopting these NCCI edits for Medi-Cal claims. Providers will be notified periodically about Medi-Cal’s progress toward final implementation.
