New Laboratory Methodology Rates Posted

These rates reflect the new methodology for market based pricing for labs. They have been posted onto the DHCS Clinical Laboratories and Laboratory Services Rate Methodology Change webpage; click on the “New Methodology Rates by Code” to view. The rates are not posted on the Medi-Cal website yet. DHCS released the rates due to the number of inquiries they were receiving from the lab industry. These rates, effective July 1, 2016, will be updated on the Medi-Cal FFS fee schedule at a later time, when the FI is able to implement the new rates. DHCS estimates that implementation will occur in September 2016. There will be Erroneous Payment Corrections (EPC) done for the retroactive adjustments for the period of July 1, 2016 up to the date of the prospective implementation in Sept.
