New Local Coverage Determination: Respiratory Pathogen Panel Testing

Effective 12/1/2021, National Government Services will be instituting a new LCD for Respiratory Pathogen Panel Testing.

The LCD/article and the procedure codes contained in the LCD are only applicable to Medicare Part B.

The LCD/article describe specific criteria which determine whether an item or service is covered by Medicare and under what circumstances.

If you are billing for these services, please be sure to review both the LCD and the billing and coding article to ensure you are billing and documenting the services appropriately.
