Reimbursement of Unlisted Multianalyte Assays No Longer Requires Invoice

Effective retroactively for dates of service on or after January 1, 2018, reimbursement for claims billed with CPT code 81599 (unlisted multianalyte assay with algorithmic analysis) no longer requires an invoice. The Fee-For-Service Rates Development Division (FFSRDD) at the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is removing the invoice requirement to allow for all claims to be properly adjudicated. An Erroneous Payment Correction (EPC) will be processed to resubmit affected claims. No action is required of providers.
