Senate confirms Sylvia Matthews Burwell to head HHS

The Senate confirmed Sylvia Mathews Burwell to serve as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. President Obama nominated Burwell, the White House’s budget director for the past year, to replace Kathleen Sebelius, who led HHS during the troubled initial roll-out of the HealthCare.gov federal insurance exchange.
