July 28, 2016Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) does not reimburse services provided by a governmental agency, including certain laboratory procedures, when the governmental agency provides them free of charge. Services provided by the governmental agency that do not meet this criteria would still qualify for reimbursement from BCBSND based on the members benefit plan. Procedures performed at no charge by the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDOH) should not be billed to BCBSND and will be denied as provider liable.
