Revision Information – 10/1/2022 coding updates include

Laboratory Measurement of Antibodies and Serum Levels Related to Biologic Agents for Treating Inflammatory Bowel Disease (CPT codes 80145, 80230, 80280, 80299, and 84999)

• Added language to indicate CPT codes 80145, 80230, 80280, 80299, and 84999 are used to describe therapeutic drug assays for these medications and does not apply to the use of the drugs which are reported with a different CPT code
• Updated list of examples of biologic agents used for treating inflammatory bowel disease; added certolizumab pegol and golimumab
• Added list of examples of inflammatory bowel disease: ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease
