Upcoming fraud prevention activities

As part of its prevention activities and ongoing efforts to combat fraud, waste, and abuse in the Florida Medicaid program, the Agency for Health Care Administration, Office of the Inspector General, Bureau of Medicaid Program Integrity (MPI), coordinates several field initiatives each fiscal year to review multiple Florida Medicaid providers (enrolled and registered) regarding compliance with Medicaid policy and laws.  During the remainder of FY 2015-16, MPI intends to conduct site visits to providers of different specialties throughout the state of Florida. The focus of MPI’s on-site provider reviews will include, but is not limited to, the following services: Practitioner Services and Independent Laboratory Services. During the upcoming field initiatives, Agency staff will determine if providers are rendering, billing, and documenting services in accordance with Medicaid policy and laws.
