XIFIN hosted a webinar on how to Boost Your Lab’s Revenue with an Effective TCPC Program. In case you missed it, here is an overview of the big takeaways:
What is a TCPC program?
TCPC refers to a revenue sharing model in which the referring physician practice sends its specimens to an outside laboratory for the processing of the specimens into slides. After the specimens are processed, the resulting technical information and slides are then sent to a pathologist that is contracted to provide reading and interpretation services for the referring practice. Each group then bills payers for its own portion of the services rendered.
What are the advantages of a TCPC program?
What a lab needs to successfully scale TCPC?
The lab system must support both the technical processing of the test and the data entry as well as the presentation of the technical data, including imaging, to the pathologist. The pathologist, in turn, must have the capabilities to create a professional patient report. A lab LIS that is tailored for TCPC must provide:
Easy partner set-upDynamic work flow to share the technical results with the revenue-sharing partnerSecure access to the technical results by the partnerCustomizable templates for the PC partner to report results back to the ordering physician
A mechanism to split the TCPC charges
