Pathology Inc. Launches XiFin Revenue Cycle Management System

June 29, 2010

XiFin, Inc., the leading provider of revenue cycle management for diagnostic service providers, announced that Pathology, Inc. of Torrance, CA, the region’s leading anatomic pathology laboratory, has selected XiFin’s revenue cycle management system to optimize its billing process, improve cash collections, and to help ensure adherence to regulatory compliance guidelines.

Pathology, Inc. specializes in diagnostic testing services with expertise in gynecology, genitourinary pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, dermatopathology, hematopathology and cytopathology. The company also performs an array of tests focused on women’s health including comprehensive liquid-based Pap testing, an array of associated molecular diagnostic assays and computer assisted interpretation techniques.

“Our number one priority is the continued success of the laboratory in providing premier pathology services to our customers and their patients, driven by best practices, leading technology and customer service throughout,” stated Vicki DiFrancesco, president and CEO of Pathology, Inc. “XiFin will be pivotal to helping us ensure the operational efficiency of billing and accounts receivable management while advancing our strategic imperative for technological leadership.”

New CFO Steve Pierce was instrumental in introducing XiFin to Pathology, Inc. following his success in using the system at one of the industry’s largest clinical labs, and expects the program to more than pay for itself by the end of the first year. Pierce stated, “XiFin is a proven solution that I know from first-hand experience will enable us to optimize revenue and access critical financial information to guide our business. XiFin’s SaaS platform also eliminates the IT infrastructure costs and operational burdens of legacy, on-premise revenue cycle management systems. The software is always current so we never have to wait for updates, giving us the ability to respond, in real time, to constantly evolving regulatory and third party payor requirements.”

Designed around industry best practices, and used by the majority of the nations’ largest clinical laboratories, XiFin’s revenue cycle management system provides diagnostic service providers with new levels of automation and actionable management information to refine revenue cycle processes and reduce operational costs. Customers who utilize XiFin to target the root causes of costly billing errors have realized gains of up to 20% in their net collections within the first 12 months.

“Pathology, Inc. is a prime example of a diagnostic service provider continually striving to optimize its quality of service as well as bottom line results,” stated Lale White, CEO of XiFin. “We are pleased that Pathology, Inc. has selected our system, and look forward to bringing new cost and efficiency gains to their organization.”

XiFin has processed more than 150 million claims for a variety of diagnostic service providers across various healthcare segments including clinical, hospital outreach, anatomic pathology, molecular diagnostics, therapeutic pain management, radiology and more.
