At ASX26, XiFin is also releasing findings from its 2026 Specialty Pharmacy Transformation Outlook survey, which highlight the operational pressures driving demand for more intelligent revenue cycle solutions. The findings indicate:

  • Strong growth outlook driven by expanding clinical role:
    • More than two-thirds (68%) of respondents identified an expanded role for pharmacists to fill care gaps as the top growth opportunity, which was also noted in the 2025 survey.
  • Continued expansion into high-complexity therapies:
    • In the next 12 to 36 months, participants plan to expand into treatments for growth deficiency, pulmonary hypertension, infertility, hemophilia, immune deficiency, and cystic fibrosis.
    • 48% reported an increase in revenue as they expanded their specialty pharmacy offering, up from 38% in 2025.
  • Reimbursement and operational complexity intensifying:
    • Low medication reimbursement ranked as a key challenge, followed closely by workload and time constraints.
    • Medical billing reimbursement ranked as the third-highest challenge, moving up from the 11th spot from the previous year, demonstrating the growing medical billing complexity that pharmacies are experiencing.
    • 62% of respondents ranked technology, automation, and AI as a top priority as they seek to improve operational efficiency and relieve staff pressure.

Together, these findings point to a clear shift: as specialty pharmacies expand clinically, managing reimbursement complexity requires a more intelligent and adaptive revenue cycle infrastructure. Pharmacies must act with urgency to expand patient access and affordability.
